Rest in Restoration
The Bible says there is a time for everything, that there is a season for every activity under heaven. And in this season of my life the Lord has called me to focus on my family. This sounds a little crazy, because as a mother my family is my number one priority. But with the desire to serve the women of God, I found myself running full force for the Lord and ended up lacking in my first ministry, my family. So the Lord had to slow me down bring me into a season of just receiving from Him instead of pouring out. It's going on three months now and I can honestly agree with Isaiah 55:8-9, where God says, "For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts." What I thought was going to be just a short break from Instagram (where I mainly share what God speaks to me for His daughters) actually turned out to be much more.
“For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways,” says the LORD. “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are My ways higher than your ways, And My thoughts than your thoughts." -Isaiah 55:8-9
So in this time of resting in the Lord, He has been teaching me & pouring into me in ways I didn't expect. Not only has he caused me to be still with my little ones, but He has also brought restoration in our family. My husband has children from before we were together, one of them is 23 years old and we call her Jazz. This girl has been in my heart since she was 13. We grew very close over the years and I love her like she is my own. To make a long story short, over time through miscommunication and selfishness we grew apart. My relationship with her was broken and so was her relationship with her dad. It had been several years apart from each other. Some things were said that couldn't be taken back, feelings were hurt and unforgiveness took its toll. I prayed for years for God to mend this broken area in our lives, but nothing came of it until last month. By God's grace, the Lord has restored our relationship with Jazz and it's better than ever. Her dad and I feel like the missing piece of our hearts is now filled. God's timing is perfect. And I love how God revealed His goodness and faithfulness as I listened to His voice to focus on my family.
Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth! ~Psalm 46:10
Do you ever find yourself trying to do things in your own strength? If you do, I want to tell you that you are not alone. Sometimes we are stuck in our own ways of doing things or believe that we actually can make things happen on our own. But one thing the Lord has been teaching me during this season, is that nothing happens on our own, everything that happens in our lives is because of God's mercy and grace. We can pray for something, beg God to make it happen, even try and bargain or manipulate Him into doing something for us but God cannot be manipulated. Hebrews 4:16 says, "Let us then approach God's throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need." As a child of God you have favor with your Father. His will for you is unity within your family. He can restore what you thought was broken forever. He can soften even the hardest heart. You can't make someone forgive you, but God can. He created the heart, He can put forgiveness in the heart of whomever He desires.
Be still before the LORD and wait patiently for him; do not fret when people succeed in their ways, when they carry out their wicked schemes. ~Psalm 37:7
I don't know what you have been waiting on God to do for you, but whatever it is, don't lose your faith. When Jesus was on the cross He said "it is finished!" I know you feel like you have been carrying this burden for so long. You feel like you will never be whole again, or this pain won't go away. I believe God is calling you to rest in Him. Rest in the fact that His ways are higher than yours, rest in the fact that He is God, and rest in His perfect timing. Surrender your burden to the Lord and find restoration in your rest. I prophesy that the season you are in is changing! God is restoring everything in your life that has been broken. God is healing every area of your wounded heart. God is restoring your hope in Jesus. He is increasing your faith in His unconditional love toward you. God has been moving behind the scenes and the curtain is lifting. Your blessings are pouring out, get ready for your cup to overflow!!
You prepare a feast for me in the presence of my enemies. You honor me by anointing my head with oil. My cup overflows with blessings. ~Psalm 23:5
There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens:
a time to be born and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to uproot,
a time to kill and a time to heal, a time to tear down and a time to build,
a time to weep and a time to laugh, a time to mourn and a time to dance,
a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them, a time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing,
a time to search and a time to give up, a time to keep and a time to throw away,
a time to tear and a time to mend, a time to be silent and a time to speak,
a time to love and a time to hate, a time for war and a time for peace.
~Ecclesiastes 3:1-8
Let's pray,
Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank you for your grace and mercy. Lord I praise the name of your Son Jesus! He is mighty to save and I'm grateful for His obedience to Your will for His life. God I lift up my sister in her time of need, in the name of Jesus I ask you to make your presence known to her. Cause her to feel your unconditional love today. Lord you know her heart and everything in it, you know what causes her to be restless, you know what makes her worry and what makes her cry. I ask you to give her rest today. And I thank you that we can trust in your Word that says You let her rest in green meadows and that You lead her beside peaceful streams. Move her to rest in your love, renew her strength Lord and guide her along the right path. Restore hope in her heart God, let her heart overflow with hope in Jesus. I declare forgiveness and love in her heart and the hearts of her loved ones. I declare Your mercy over her life in Jesus name. God remind her of who You are!! Remind her that she is not alone because Your Word says that You never leave her nor forsake her. Remind her that better days are ahead of her. Remind her that You are the God of restoration and that nothing is too broken that it can't be restored by You. Thank you that Your Word doesn't return void and that it accomplishes everything you send it out to do. So as I declare Your Word over my sister, I thank you that it will take root and praise You because it's already done.
In Jesus mighty name,
Amen.
If you're feeling like there's a heaviness on you that just doesn't go away and you need more prayer, please know you are not alone. Send a prayer request and I will send you back a specific prayer for what you are going through.
And if you need to walk through healing, I have also written a blueprint on healing walking you through the same steps the Holy Spirit led me through on my own healing journey.
