“The Lord will Strengthen you”

As I was in prayer, I heard the Lord say, "I will strengthen you." And He reminded me, when you are feeling powerless and weak, unable to pray and lacking motivation, the Lord will strengthen you.

When you stand on the truth of God’s word and allow Him to transform your thoughts it will transform you feelings which will cause a change in your actions. When you believe in the Truth, that God can strengthen you when you are weak, then will you feel His power strengthen you.

So how does this work? Because it seems easier said that done when you are at your weakest.

Well, begin by believing what the Bible says about strength.

  • Nehemiah 8:10, “Then he said to them, “Go your way. Eat the fat and drink sweet wine and send portions to anyone who has nothing ready, for this day is holy to our Lord. And do not be grieved, for the joy of the LORD is your strength.

  • Psalm 28:7, “The LORD is my strength and shield. I trust him with all my heart. He helps me, and my heart is filled with joy. I burst out in songs of thanksgiving.”

  • 2 Corinthians 2:9, “But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

One of the most well known scriptures about strength is the joy of the Lord is our strength.  But the words right before that are often not quoted.  It says do not be grieved.

The bible says in James 1:22, “Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says.” When you choose to not be grieved and find joy in even the smallest thing the Lord will show up and give strength. You have a choice, you can stay in the mindset of negativity or you can choose joy.

Psalm 28:7, is a promise that the Lord is your strength and your shield. He helps you and fills your heart with joy. This is a promise!  From a supernatural God!  You can begin to thank Him, just say this verse out loud and thank Him for being your strength and your shield. Thank Him that you can trust Him with all of your heart. No man on earth is faithful to his word, but it is impossible for God to tell a lie. He is faithful in everything he does and everything His Word says. He will come through for you every time.

And lastly, the Bible promises in 2 Corinthians 2:9, the grace of God is sufficient. It is enough to overcome everything you are feeling. His grace overcomes your loneliness, it overcomes your emptiness, it overcomes your inability to do what you can’t do for yourself. Do you know why? Because God’s power is made perfect in your weakness.  When you are weak He is strong and His power rests on you!

Some days are absolutely unbearable. Some days you feel unable to encourage yourself or motivate yourself to do anything. Some days the weight is too heavy to carry.  And on these days, when you are feeling defeated, cry out to God! Tell him your feelings, tell him what you are struggling with, tell him what you can’t do, tell him what you are thinking, be real with the God who sees you and loves you in your weakest moments. And surrender every weight and every burden you are carrying, because God is your strength and He can carry the weight.

Let’s Pray,

Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank you that you are our strength. Thank you that you are our shield of protection from every attack of the enemy that tries to steal our joy, kill our purpose and destroy the plan and will that you have for our lives.  Thank you that your power is made perfect in our weakness, because God we are not able.  We are not able to do what only you can do for us. So today we ask that you fill our hearts with joy and gladness, fill our minds with peace, consume us with your grace today Lord and we declare no weapon the enemy forms against us will prosper!  Remind us in this moment that we are daughters of the Most High God, supernaturally allow us to feel your presence today.  And we ask that you move us by your Holy Spirit to be doers of your word and allow your word to transform us, in Jesus name.

Amen.
